Why I love HUM Nutrition
HUM Nutrition is a company that fuses beauty and nutrition together to go hand in hand. They focus on beauty from the inside out, and solving the root cause of any internal issues instead of just masking them. This is a twist on the traditional personalized vitamin scene that has been gaining popularity recently. Similar to other personalized vitamin programs, you fill out a nutrition report online and get connected with a personal nutritionist for free. HUM products are based on the belief that by supplementing with micro nutrients you are able to balance out hormones in the body, and provide nutrients that help achieve your desired beauty and wellness goals which would otherwise be hard to achieve from diet alone.
As a Health Coach, I love this philosophy! I am all for solving the root cause of hormonal imbalances or vitamin deficiencies to help you look and feel your best. When it comes to beauty, wellness, and body composition, you need to be truly in tune with your body. I love that HUM Nutrition provides solutions for various beauty and wellness goals with alternative and science based ingredients. They offer supplements for thicker hair, stronger nails, more hydrated skin, better digestion, cleansing, and weight management. In addition to pills, HUM came out with a collagen supplement and a green superfood powder.
Beauty truly starts from within, and this is something I have learned throughout my modeling career. If I want to look and feel my best for an upcoming photoshoot, I need to prepare and take care of myself properly because there is no way to cut corners. There is a direct correlation with what we put into our body or how we treat it and how we look and feel.
All HUM products are gluten free and non-GMO, only coming from sustainably sourced ingredients. Aside from their collagen products and fish based omegas, all others are vegan friendly.
This probiotic contains 10 strains of probiotics with 25 million organisms. Everything begins in the gut - your instincts, your immunity, your skin, and your body's ability to absorb nutrients and break down food. This supplement is vegan friendly and should be taken daily on an empty stomach. This formula is definitely the best probiotic I have tried!
This is a blend of digestive enzymes and herbs to help the body breakdown foods and absorb nutrients more efficiently. This formula was created to help the body optimize the digestion of protein, carbohydrates, fiber and fats, which minimizes indigestion and bloating. Ginger, fennel and peppermint are also included as an herbal blend which are known for their ability to soothe stomach cramps.
A vegan formula with organic chlorella and spirulina, as well as cleansing minerals and 15 detoxing herbs including beetroot, dandelion and milk thistle. This helps cleanse your skin, liver, bowel, kidney, lungs, and lymphatic system of harmful toxins. This is ideal for people who struggle with acne or are looking to balance the body and flush out toxins. I always take this leading up to an important shoot or event so that my skin feels clear and glowing!
Hair, Skin, Nails
Black seed oil is the main ingredient in this supplement, and this oil is so beneficial I wrote an entire post about it here! This supplement contains black seed oil and vitamin E, providing the body with healthy fats GLA and ALA. These essential fatty acids help keep the skin moisturized and prevent premature aging, while also working to strengthen and add shine to hair. This blend will truly get you Red Carpet Ready!
Biotin, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, and Zinc are all the necessities for healthy hair. Also included is the traditional Chinese herb Fo-Ti which helps to improve blood flow throughout the body, especially the scalp. PABA is an antioxidant that helps to maintain natural hair color and prevent grays by helping the body break down protein more efficiently. I began taking Hair Sweet Hair and I noticed results after the first month, so it is a part of my daily routine now! I love that formula is science backed and it isn't loaded with sugar like other gummy vitamins or "magic hair pills" that some companies have on the market.
Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C from Alma and Vitamin E work together to protect the skin and provide antioxidants to keep it glowing. The hyaluronic acid used is low molecular, meaning it is easier for the body to absorb and this property helps to add moisture to the skin, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Stress, pollution, aging and diet can all work against the body and speed up inevitable aging. This is great to take year round because it is perfect to moisturize skin in the winter, and it also helps keep the skin protected and healthy in the summer.
Anchovies, Sardines, Mackerel and Vitamin E provide your body with the perfect anti-inflammatory fats. These nutrients will benefit your skin tone, maintain a healthy heart and improve brain function. Healthy fats are vital to one's diet, but what is more important is the type of fat and the source. These omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, come from the fatty layers of sustainably sourced cold-water fish.
This vegan supplement uses herbs to control appetite, and reduces stress eating with 5-HTP by supporting serotonin production. It also includes green tea to boost metabolism and chromium to maintain healthy blood sugar. This formula is ideal for those who are trying to eat more mindfully and limit emotional eating with a nutritional support system.
If you get stressed out easily or live a hectic lifestyle, this supplement is for you! Rhodiola Rosea is an herb that works to help keep the mind and body calm, focused, and manage stress better. Rhodiola is considered an adaptogen for its ability to help the body adapt to stressful conditions and improve anxiety levels. For those unfamiliar with adaptogens, I have covered it in a previous article here. Managing stress is important for beauty routines because if you don't get things under control, stress can speed up the effects of aging.
This dissolvable supplement contains marine collagen and vitamin C, which is the ideal combination for healthy skin. These nutrients help to increase moisture and improve elasticity. Not only does it look pretty, but it tastes great - a rose water and lemonade fusion! (For more information on collagen, check out my previous post here.)
Which supplement would you most be willing to try?!
As always, consult your healthcare provider before starting a new supplement or diet routine.
