5 Simple Wellness Habits That Make Me Feel My Best

I’ve always believed that feeling your best is about so much more than what you see in the mirror. Of course, I love a good skincare routine, feeling put together, and finding those little things that make everyday life feel a bit more special. But over time, I’ve realized that the way we feel on the inside has just as much to do with the little habits we build into our everyday lives.
My experience in modeling and my work as a health coach have both shaped the way I think about wellness, although in different ways. Modeling has made me appreciate the little routines that help me feel prepared and put together, while health coaching has encouraged me to look beyond the surface and think about the habits that support how we feel over time. For me, the two go hand in hand. I love the beauty and lifestyle side of wellness, but I also care about feeling strong, having energy, and building habits that support me in the long run.
I’m naturally drawn to all things wellness, from movement and nutrition to skincare and the little rituals that help me feel more balanced. I love discovering new things, but I’m also a big believer in keeping things simple. I don’t think we need a perfectly planned routine to take good care of ourselves.
For me, wellness is about paying attention to how you feel and finding little habits that fit naturally into your life. These are five things I keep coming back to because they help me feel more grounded, energized, and connected to myself.

1. Starting My Mornings Slowly
If you read my last post, you already know that I love a slow morning. There’s something about having a little time to wake up properly before jumping into the day that makes everything feel more manageable.
I like to start with some water, make myself a cup of tea, and enjoy a few quiet moments before getting caught up in messages and everything else on my to-do list. I also love having my Smart Alarm Clock gradually brighten the room as I wake up. It makes my mornings feel a little gentler, especially when I’m tempted to stay under the covers for another twenty minutes!
I don’t follow the exact same routine every day, and honestly, I don’t think I need to. Some mornings are slower, while others are a little more rushed. I try to focus on creating a few moments that feel good rather than worrying about doing everything perfectly.
And just to be clear, my coffee isn’t going anywhere. I’m still very much a coffee girl! I just love having a little time to ease into the morning before reaching for my usual cup.
2. Making Movement Part of My Everyday Life
Movement is one of those things that can make me feel so much better, both physically and mentally. But I’ve learned that I enjoy it most when it feels like a natural part of my life rather than something I have to force myself to do.
I love Pilates, yoga, walking, and stretching, and I like having different options depending on how I’m feeling. Yoga is especially lovely when I want to slow down, focus on my breathing, and feel more connected to my body. I also love getting outside for a walk, whether I’m listening to a podcast or simply enjoying some fresh air.
I’ve been trying to incorporate more strength training into my routine, too. As much as I love Pilates, yoga, and walking, I recognize how important building and maintaining muscle is for our overall health, particularly as we get older. Strength training helps support muscle mass, strength, and everyday function, and I want to be more intentional about making it part of my long-term wellness routine.
I’m still finding my rhythm with it, and I think that’s an important part of the process. We don’t need to have every part of our fitness routine perfectly figured out before we start. Sometimes it’s simply about trying something new and finding a way to make it work with our lives.
What I love most is having a balance of different kinds of movement. Some days I want something more structured, while other days a gentle walk is exactly what I need. And sometimes rest is the right choice, too.
My little reminder: Find movement you genuinely enjoy, while staying open to new things that support your long-term health. You don’t have to do everything at once.
3. Keeping Hydration and Nutrition Simple
Hydration and nutrition are two of those everyday basics I try to come back to, especially when life gets busy.
I like keeping water nearby throughout the day because it’s easy to get caught up in everything else and forget the simple things. Having a water bottle within reach makes it easier to remember.
When it comes to food, I’m a big believer in keeping things balanced and realistic. I love meals that make me feel nourished and satisfied, and I try to include a variety of foods that support my energy and overall well-being. I also enjoy food, and I don’t believe taking care of yourself means making every meal complicated or following a strict set of rules.
Some days I have more time to prepare something at home, and other days I need something quick and easy. Having a few simple meal ideas I enjoy makes everyday life feel much easier.
I also try not to get caught up in the idea that there’s one perfect way to eat or that we need to follow every new wellness trend. Nutrition is personal, and what works well for one person might not work the same way for someone else.
For me, the goal is to find a way of eating that feels enjoyable, practical, and nourishing without turning food into something stressful. I love discovering new wellness products, too, but I see them as additions to the basics, not replacements for them.
Sometimes the simplest things really are the most helpful: drinking enough water, eating satisfying meals, and finding foods you genuinely enjoy.
4. Making Time for Little Self-Care Rituals
I’ve always loved the little rituals that make an ordinary day feel a bit more special. Skincare is one of my favorites because it’s something I can incorporate into my day without needing to set aside a huge amount of time.
I enjoy taking a few extra minutes to cleanse my skin, apply my favorite products, and slow down. Depending on the day, I might use my Gua Sha stone with a little serum or face oil, or simply stick to the basics and finish with moisturizer and SPF.
I love trying new beauty and wellness products, but I’ve learned that I don’t need to use every product I come across. The things that stay in my routine are usually the ones I genuinely enjoy using.
For me, self-care goes beyond skincare, too. It might be making a cup of tea in the afternoon, journaling, reading before bed, or putting my phone away when I need a little break.
I think we sometimes turn self-care into another list of things we should be doing. Suddenly, something that’s supposed to feel relaxing becomes another responsibility.
I’d much rather think of it as an opportunity to check in with myself. Do I need some quiet time? Would I enjoy doing my skincare, or would I rather keep things simple tonight?
You don’t need a ten-step routine or a new product every week to make time for yourself. Sometimes it’s enough to do one small thing that helps you feel relaxed, refreshed, or a little more like yourself.
5. Prioritizing Rest and Listening to My Body
I think we often spend so much time thinking about what we should add to our routines that we forget how important it is to give ourselves time to rest.
We want to move more, eat well, stay productive, and somehow fit everything into a single day. While I love having habits that support my well-being, I also think it’s important to recognize when we need to slow down.
For me, that means paying attention to my energy levels and giving myself some flexibility. If I’ve had a particularly busy week, I might choose a gentle walk instead of a more demanding workout. If I’m feeling tired, I try to make room for an earlier night rather than convincing myself I need to push through everything.
I also enjoy creating little evening rituals that help me wind down, whether that’s doing my skincare, making a cup of tea, or putting my phone away a little earlier.
As a health coach, I’m interested in how our everyday habits influence how we feel. But I also believe it’s important to approach wellness with compassion. Our needs change, and our routines won’t look exactly the same every day.
Rest isn’t something we need to earn by being productive enough or exercising enough. It’s a normal part of taking care of ourselves.
Sometimes, listening to your body means recognizing that you need more sleep, a quieter evening, or a day with fewer plans. I think learning to make space for those things can be just as valuable as building any other healthy habit.
Finding a Wellness Routine That Works for You
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that feeling your best doesn’t come from doing every wellness trend or creating the most perfect routine. It’s about finding the little things that help you feel good and making room for them in a way that works with your actual life.
For me, that means slow mornings when I can manage them, movement I enjoy, simple and nourishing meals, little moments of self-care, and making rest a priority. I certainly don’t manage to do everything perfectly every day, and I don’t think I need to.
If you’re looking to feel a little better in your everyday life, start with one small thing. Maybe it’s drinking a little more water, getting outside for a walk, trying a yoga class, or making time for a bedtime ritual you actually look forward to.
Give yourself time to find what works, and don’t be afraid to adjust things along the way.
That’s the approach to wellness I keep coming back to: simple, personal, and flexible enough to fit real life. I’ll always enjoy discovering new products and routines, but I also believe the basics deserve just as much attention.
At the end of the day, wellness isn’t about becoming a completely different person or having every part of your life perfectly figured out, it’s about taking care of the person you already are, one little habit at a time.
