Recipe: Gluten Free Turkey Chili

Updated: May 1, 2020

Easy Quarantine Chili... I know it is hard to get ahold of a lot of ingredients under the circumstances right now, and it is not the easiest to find motivation to cook an extravagant dinner every night either. This recipe it quick, healthy, and easy to clean with just one pan! It can be modified to incorporate whatever ingredients you have on hand :)

Some great additions if you have fresh produce include diced sweet potato, corn, carrots, and chopped bell peppers. Feel free to substitute any beans or ground meat you prefer!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 6

Ingredients:

1 lb. of ground turkey

28 oz. can of petite diced tomatoes

2 15 oz. cans of red kidney beans

1 onion

1 garlic clove

2 tbsp. tomato paste

1 cup salsa

1/2 tsp sea salt*

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp celery salt*

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper*

* add spices to taste, or substitute to your desired flavor

Directions:

1.) Add oil to a large pan. Chop the onion and then sauté it adding in sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, celery salt, and cayenne pepper.

2.) After sautéing for a few minutes, add in the tomato paste, ground turkey, and minced garlic. Break up the turkey and cook thoroughly until no longer pink, roughly 5-8 minutes.

3.) Once turkey is thoroughly cooked, add in diced tomatoes, kidney beans and salsa. Bring to a boil and then lower heat and let simmer.

4.) Garnish with avocado, salsa, sour cream, or any toppings you would like!
